Egypt

[dropcap]E[/dropcap]gypt has one of the longest histories of any modern state, having been continuously inhabited since the 10th millennium BC. Its monuments, such as the Giza pyramid complex and its Great Sphinx, were constructed by its ancient civilization, which was one of the most advanced of its time. Its ancient ruins, such as those of Memphis, Thebes, Karnak, and the Valley of the Kings outside Luxor, are a significant focus of archaeological study and popular interest. Egypt’s rich cultural legacy, as well as the attraction of its Red Sea Riviera, has made tourism a vital part of the economy, employing about 12% of the country’s workforce. Less than 1.5% of the population claims to be Evangelical.

My first trip to Egypt was in 2008. I was privileged to return in 2012. Wow! What a Biblically historic nation! And, it certainly is on Biblical radar in the days we’re living in!

The Assemblies of God host annual conferences, with up to 20+ denominations represented. Until or unless you are able to be in such an environment, where the freedom to worship, pray and learn God’s Word is so sacred, there are no words to describe the value of such a gathering. Please join me in prayer for our brothers and sisters in this nation.
